About Us

The Continental Leadership Research Institute (CLRI) is a non-partisan and non-profit organization registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the laws of the Republic of Zambia on 13th January 2017, with registration number 120170001165.

CLRI believes in research-based advocacy and works with professionals and young people across the country to promote leadership, good governance, and sustainable development through evidence-driven programs.

Governance Structure

CLRI operates under the Articles of Association, which provide for an elected Advisory Board led by a Board Chairperson. The Board provides strategic direction and oversees the operations of the Secretariat. The Secretariat consists of the Executive Director, Program Manager, Programs Coordinator, Programs Associate, Research Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager, Accountant, and supporting staff who manage the organization’s day-to-day activities. CLRI also engages interns and volunteers to support its programs.

Objectives

Promote democratic governance and sound leadership among youths and women.

Equip young people with life skills for effective participation in community programs

Conduct programs that contribute to national development through research and education

Build capacities of youths and women through training in education, leadership, governance, and entrepreneurship.

Promote leadership skills among young people in all sectors of the economy

Support efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—especially SDG 6 (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene).

Conduct research in social sciences and other fields for informed advocacy

Conduct educational programs on development, democracy, entrepreneurship, and economic prosperity.

Promote human rights for women, children, youth, and other disadvantaged groups

To become a renowned resource center in Africa engaged in research and advocacy on policy, education, leadership, constitutionalism, youth and women empowerment, entrepreneurship, good governance, and sustainable development.
