Mundia Paul Hakoola is the Executive Director of the Continental Leadership Research Institute (CLRI) in Lusaka, Zambia. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Cavendish University Zambia and a Master of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Lusaka.
His research and professional work focus on constitutionalism, democratic governance, civil–military relations, and peacebuilding in Africa.
Over the past decade, Hakoola has been actively engaged in civil society, contributing to governance reforms, civic education, and leadership development initiatives.
His work often bridges the gap between law and political science, emphasizing institutional design and the rule of law as tools for preventing democratic backsliding and unconstitutional changes of government.
He has led and collaborated on multiple research and advocacy projects focusing on electoral integrity, anti-corruption, and security sector governance across Southern Africa. His recent work explores the role of constitutional frameworks in sustaining political stability and democratic resilience in post-colonial Africa.
